For contemporary painter and Dorévéliste Romuald Musset, looking is never a static experience.
The artwork transforms with the person contemplating it: depending on the angle and the light, a relief catches the eye, a gilded surface is revealed, a glimmer emerges, or another fades away.
Each movement therefore creates a new perception, making the viewer a true participant in the artwork.
Behind this apparent exuberance lies a more serious reflection. Silent witnesses to the degradation of marine ecosystems, the artist Romuald Musset’s gorgonian corals in Cassis carry the memory of an endangered underwater world.
Between brilliance and fragility, presence and disappearance, the artist creates a body of work in which beauty is both decorative and the very place where awareness emerges.
